What on earth does that mean? The Shell Group is set to divest its onshore renewable energy business. It appears that its competitor, TotalEnergies, will be the buyer of operations in Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK. This is how two major energy groups are sending a message: one in favour of the environment, and one against it.

We’re hearing from Trump that talks are taking place with Iran. Iran is quick to point out that it is not negotiating with the US. Let’s see who’s actually talking to whom.

And then there’s something else from the world of football – and from right at the top, at that. It is Mr Infantino who has apparently shown a little too much closeness to his Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Donald Trump. Now it seems there are the first national associations that no longer wish to support Infantino as head of FIFA. That’s just the sort of thing to fill the well-known summer news slump.
