And everyone is talking

about this goal, at least for those of us who are interested in football. It was only a 2:2 draw between FC Bayern and Union Berlin, but the goal scored by Bayern professional Luis Diaz had it all. He scored from a very acute angle in front of an astonished crowd. Despite the draw, Bayern remain top of the Bundesliga table.

The climate conference is currently taking place in Belem, Brazil, interestingly without the world's biggest climate polluter, the USA. We have now learnt from the media that the tent city set up for the conference was stormed by environmental activists in protest and several security staff were injured as a result. We hope that the climate conference can still go ahead and that those involved can agree to do more to protect the environment.

It has been reported from Russia that the dubious justice system there has repeatedly sentenced the street musician Naoko and her bandmates, who have attracted attention by singing songs against the war in general. She is said not to have admitted to doing anything wrong in court, and after the trial she was led away by police officers to the applause of sympathisers who were in the court as spectators. Her whereabouts are currently unknown.

We hope that she is doing well and wish all Russian citizens who are campaigning for an end to the dictatorship and the war against Ukraine strength and hope.
