It’s June in Germany, and the weather still hasn’t quite settled into a summery pattern. But things could get even better. Things aren’t looking rosy for Germany’s automotive industry. According to a study, the wars are weighing on the sector, as is tariff policy. Thanks to this policy, things are looking better for US manufacturers, but also for Japanese manufacturers, who will also suffer under the tariff policy. Among the most profitable automotive groups, Suzuki from Japan is said to be in the lead with a margin of 10.9% (1Q-3Q), followed by GM from the US with 9.4% (1Q-3Q). The most profitable German manufacturer is said to be BMW with a margin of 6.5% (1Q-3Q).
It looks like money is finally on its way from the US to Ukraine after all. At the very least, the US House of Representatives has approved billions in aid for Ukraine. In doing so, they have also reaffirmed their commitment to NATO. This is unlikely to be to Trump’s liking. Let’s see if he manages to block the funds to Ukraine.
Once again, FIFA has announced a number of changes. At the World Cup, substitute players will now also be required to stand on the pitch during the national anthem, and this will take place around the centre circle. The German national team has arrived in Chicago without incident. Reports from training suggest that Manuel Neuer did not take part as he still needs a break for health reasons. It is apparently his calf that is hampering him once again. One can only hope that he gets some match practice in before the tournament kicks off against Curaçao on 14 June 2026.
We wish you a pleasant weekend.
Yours www.bululu.de Team
