So, it seems Mr Spahn is now really starting to step back; at the very least, he’s giving up his seat on the Budget Committee. Perhaps it was all a bit too much that, instead of sitting on the Budget Committee, he preferred to fly off to Sardinia with the whole family. It’s hardly surprising, then, that the AfD continues to gain support. That said, it does have the advantage of being the party that rails most loudly against other parties, whilst apparently allowing itself to get away with anything without having to take responsibility.

It feels rather like Trump in the US. He, too, seems to be able to get away with anything and still gets elected. Apparently, adverts for the Republicans, which have been funded by taxpayers’ money, are currently being broadcast there.

After our Foreign Secretary sought talks with Russia’s Foreign Minister Lavrov, reports have appeared in the media stating that the outcome is that there is no outcome, and that Russia allegedly has no interest whatsoever in ending the war against Ukraine.
