So it's happening after all. After initial resistance from Slovakian Prime Minister Fico in favour of the EU's new sanctions package against Russia due to Putin's war of aggression against Ukraine, he has now quickly announced that Slovakia will agree. Let's see whether this will work.

We learn from the Russian economy that it is having problems filling jobs due to the high recruitment bonuses for Putin's war of conquest and is therefore weakening. Meanwhile, we read that at least one more death has been reported in Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks last night.

And then we have just heard from Bochum that a block of flats caught fire there last night. The fire brigade, which was alerted during the night, is said to have recovered one person, but whether the cause of death is connected to the fire has yet to be determined. The residents were able to move back into their flats.
