Today is 30 April 2025 and April traditionally comes to an end in the Lower Rhine region with a dance into May, bidding farewell to winter and looking forward to longer days and warmer weather.

It's no longer a pleasure to read something new from Donald Trump, now he has allegedly announced that he wants to soften the announced car tariffs. Something positive for the German economy. It is also positive that the SPD base has voted in favour of the coalition agreement with the CDU, so we will soon have a new government that can be judged by its election promises.

Fittingly, the current unemployment figures for April 2025 have risen slightly by 182,000 compared to April 2024. Everyone is still waiting for the spring recovery.

The Russians are said to be constantly increasing their demands on Ukraine and are allegedly demanding further concessions from Ukraine.
