The City of Hildesheim is seeking to fill the following position in the Department of Social Affairs at the earliest possible date

Processing of care assistance (m/f/d)

- Remuneration group 9 c TVöD / salary group A 10 NBesG

part-time with a regular weekly working time of up to 29.25 or 30 hours. A minimum of 25 hours is desirable.

Our employees provide important public services for the people in our city and the local companies. The city of Hildesheim is one of the largest public employers in the region and offers a wide range of tasks, such as business and culture, urban planning and development, social affairs and youth, public safety and order.

The aim of the Social Services department is to provide targeted support and assistance to people in very different life situations. The department is divided into four areas: General tasks, refugees and assistance for the homeless (50.1); participation and rehabilitation (50.2); care, home supervision and education package (50.3) and basic security (50.4), in which the employees take care of social security in the city of Hildesheim.

The advertised position is assigned to the Care, Home Supervision and Education Package department (50.3).

These tasks await you with us:

• Counselling for people claiming benefits, their relatives or legal carers on entitlements under the Social Code XII and XI and the Lower Saxony Blind Benefits Act
• Receipt and processing of applications in the areas of care assistance in accordance with §§ 61 ff. SGB XII, funeral costs according to § 74 SGB XII and assistance for the blind according to § 72 SGB XII
• Processing of the state allowance for the blind
• Processing of benefits in accordance with the Rehabilitation Acts
• Processing applications for assistance for the elderly in accordance with Section 71 SGB XII and for assistance to maintain the household in accordance with Section 70 SGB XII

Your professional profile:

• Qualification for the first entry-level post in category 2, specialising in general services or
• Successfully completed employee training course II

What you need to bring personally:

• Experience in case processing with legal application, preferably in the legal areas of the Social Code (SGB XI, SGB XII)
• Willingness to undergo further training to ensure a constantly up-to-date level of knowledge in all relevant areas
• Value-neutral, engaging demeanour and good verbal and written communication skills
• Negotiating skills and empathy as well as communication skills at different levels of dialogue
• Willingness to engage in conflict regarding the differing interests of various stakeholders
• Load capacity
• Ability to work in a team
• Sound knowledge in the use of the relevant MS Office programmes
