A ray of hope in a news world dominated by despots. In Moldova, the pro-European party is far and away in the lead. Despite the active influence of Russian dictator Putin. 

Which does not stop Putin from continuing to test the European states with his drone attacks to see how far he can go before they react. It certainly seems like pure provocation on Putin's part.    

The run-off elections were held in NRW at the weekend. A ray of hope for democracy: no far-right mayoral candidate was able to prevail in the run-off elections. Things went badly for the SPD in Dortmund, where it lost the local elections to the CDU after 79 years, while in Cologne the SPD candidate won and Münster now has a Green mayor.
