What is happening in the forest fires in the USA is a drama even for the rich and famous. Countless people are losing all their possessions in the flames and some are even losing their lives. Many of the people who live there are facing a completely new start. The damage is said to be in the three-digit billion range and now there are already the first appeals for donations for the victims, yes, please donate for the people who have lost everything and are facing a new start, but not for the rich and beautiful who are filming themselves with luxury suitcases and SUVs as they flee to their second, third or fourth homes.

Now that the AfD's candidate for chancellor, Ms Weidel, has rewritten history and publicly turned the right-wing Nazi Adolf Hitler into a leftist, one wonders how Mr Höcke should be treated by the AfD? Do we have to call him a leftist now, or does he even change parties and stand with the left? It just leaves me shaking my head what Mrs Weidel is saying, spurred on by tech billionaire Elon Musk. The worst thing about the whole dilemma will be that the AfD will get even more votes because German citizens will vote for the Nazi party AfD, and once again people have not learnt from history.

But hope dies last and with the hope that everything will work out in the end, we wish you a pleasant working week in the sunshine on the Lower Rhine.
